Mara ‘Marnie’ Katz, MA, BCBA, COBA is the Founder and Executive Director of Epicenter ABA Therapy.  Marnie earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Speech and Language Pathology and her Masters degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In 2014, while working toward her BCBA, Marnie joined a small Chicago based ABA company, as their 5th employee. As she was promoted within to their Regional Director of Chicago, Marnie was a key contributor to the company’s growth. Marnie left her position as the Regional Director in October 2017.  The company had grown to over 300 employees. In January 2018, Marnie founded Epicenter ABA in Cleveland, Ohio. Epicenter has expanded to over 20 full-time employees including three BCBAs and continues to grow. She specializes in working with a wide range of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or co-morbid neurological disorder (I.e. ADHD, Mood Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Blind, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PDD-NOS) using evidence based treatment, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Marnie’s dedication and work supporting the autism community in Northeast Ohio has only just begun.

Mark Shankman | Director of Operations

As Director of Operations, Mark oversees Epicenter’s day-to-day business functions including client on-boarding, hiring staff, managing relationships with each of our partnered insurance companies, and each of the functions and processes that contribute to Epicenter’s mission. Mark is a professional customer service and client relations specialist having spent 10 years of his career focused on developing and maintaining client relationships, most recently in coffee and tea distribution, where he was dedicated to ensuring each of his clients had everything they needed to provide their customers with an optimal customer experience.  He maintains his interest in the coffee and tea industry. At Epicenter, he is dedicated to ensuring that each Epicenter client, client family, and staff member benefits from optimal client and staff experience.  Mark is excited to champion our amazing team of clinicians and therapists supporting Epicenter's mission of providing the highest quality of ABA therapy possible to your child. 

Stephanie Dixon, M.Ed | Clinical Director, BCBA, COBA


Stephanie is Epicenter's Clinical Director of Cleveland. She provides oversight to our Board Certified Behavior Analysts. She started working in in-home and clinic based ABA programs in Cleveland in 2009.  She later moved to Chicago where she continued to grow in the field of ABA and completed her masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Southern Illinois University and BCBA certification in 2016.  She has experience working with children from ages two to adulthood and has worked with individuals across the spectrum.  


More recently, Stephanie was a clinical director in Savannah, Georgia where she supervised and trained RBTs and BCBAs.  During this time she supported clients in the home and clinic setting while working on community outreach and education.  Stephanie has a passion for natural and creative based programming and is committed to supporting her clients and their families. 


Alyssa Jansen, M.Ed | Regional Manager, BCBA, COBA


Alyssa is Epicenter's Regional Manager on both the East and West side of Cleveland. She provides oversight to our practicum student fellowship program. She began providing 1:1 in home, ABA therapy 14+ years ago while in her undergraduate program at Cleveland State University.  Since then, she gained experience through working at a center based program and has worked in various schools providing consultation services to clients who have been mainstreamed, as well as home based settings. She has a passion for learning and has found her career rewarding in that she is constantly learning and educating others. She has a wide range of experience with early intervention services. 

Nicole Hajma, M.Ed | East & West Board Certified Behavior Analyst, BCBA, COBA, Early Intervention Specialist


Nicole is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, intervention specialist and holds her Master's degree in special education from Baldwin Wallace University. She is a BCBA with Epicenter on the East and West side of Cleveland. She has gained her experience working in school, vocational, and home based settings. Nicole has been providing in-home ABA therapy and vocational services for 10+ years in the Cleveland area. She has a passion for learning and educating others.

Samantha Platko | East Board Certified Behavior Analyst, BCBA, COBA


Samantha Platko, MS, BCBA, COBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Epicenter ABA, servicing clients in a variety of settings. She earned her Master’s degree from Mercyhurst University in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. Samantha achieved certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and as a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) in 2016. Prior to Epicenter, Samantha has worked with children on the autism spectrum and a variety of abilities in daycare, home, school, clinic and community settings for over ten years. Samantha enjoys teaching those who are new to the field of ABA and inspiring their passion through client progress! 

Tariel Ashie | Client Service Coordinator (CSC), RBT 1

Tariel Ashie _ Behavior Therapist Epicen

Tariel is Epicenter's Client Service Coordinator and supports in scheduling, intakes, and hiring needs. She also supports as a covering therapist for Epicenter kiddos. She has earned her associates degree in Human Resources from Cuyahoga Community College. She is attending coursework towards a second degree in small business,  as well as a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources. She has put in hundreds of hours in volunteer work for her community and has helped raise thousands of dollars for many local charities. Tariel is extremely passionate about people and loves to be part of the process of helping kids and people grow.

Dan is currently a practicum student with Epicenter ABA and is working towards his Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. He has 8 plus years experience in a variety of settings working with children with autism.

Don ran a martial arts school for 30 years to help disadvantaged youth. He also ran youth programs for his church. Don was a Scoutmaster for four different scout troops and spent 5 1/2 years working with special needs children in the community. He is currently a Registered Behavior Technician with Epicenter ABA and educates families on implementing ABA techniques for their children. He also raises corgis. They are cute!


Marissa holds  a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently a practicum student working towards her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue Global University. She has a wide  range of experience working with children in different childcare settings. She has a passion for children and animals and hopes to combine the two in an ABA setting. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, doing adult coloring books, and being around friends and family. 


Zack Metz, RBT

Zack has always had a passion for helping people and that passion has led him to ABA. He received his Bachelor's in Sociology from Kutztown University and his Master's in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. He has had several years of experience working with individuals with Autism across a wide range of ages. He is currently a Registered Behavior Technician at Epicenter ABA, seeking to both continue to spread understanding on the ABA format and continue his own growth in the field.

He is now attending Kent State University pursuing my Master's degree in Special Education and also obtaining a Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate which will allow him to take the BCBA exam. He has 2 years of experience working with children with autism. In his spare time, he likes to play video games and collect tradable cards.

Mikaiah has always had a passion for making a difference in people's lives and her dedication for it is apparent in her work as a behavior technician. She is working to attain her bachelors degree in psychology at Cleveland State University. As a lifeguard, Mikaiah spent her time teaching kids from all walks of life how to swim at her community pool, although that was not the only part of her job, it was easily her favorite. In her free time she likes to go to the beach, listen to music, and read.

Caitlin is currently working to attain her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in cognitive science at Case Western Reserve University. She is working towards attaining her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification after completing her bachelor's degree. Caitlin has over 3 years of experience working with children and older adults with developmental disabilities and autism. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, doing artwork, and playing music.

Frankie has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Baldwin Wallace University and is currently a practicum student and Master's program at Ball State University to obtain her BCBA certification. She has been working with children for 7 plus years through various shadowing and volunteer opportunities. Through volunteer experiences within the Cleveland area, she has had experience working with children who were diagnosed with disorders such as ADHD, conduct disorders, and strong emotional disturbances. These experiences have lead her to working with children with Autism using ABA therapy.


Angel Martino, RBT

Angel is a certified medical assistant and worked for the Cleveland clinic for 12 years where she then went on to obtain her bachelors in psychology.  For the past 8 years she has worked as a community based case manager and mentor trainer working with chronically ill mental health clients.  She loves all Cleveland sports but most importantly Cleveland Browns football!!

Kaitlyn has a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University. She has 3 years of experience working in ABA & has experience working in school, clinic, and home settings. She has supervisory experience with training and on-boarding new RBTs. Kaitlyn loves teaching through play & is excited to work with her Epicenter client’s everyday.

Cami graduated from Ohio University in Spring 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Throughout Cami’s summers while in her undergraduate program, she worked at an extended school year (ESY) camp and fell in love with working with children with special needs. Cami is currently in graduate school at Kent State University working towards her Master’s of Education as well as her Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology. She hopes to use her experiences and skills learned throughout this experience of being an RBT to be a better school psychologist in the future!
